Coal shortage hits thermal generation in 7 plants (Feb 1)
Thermal generation has been hit with nil coal stock at number of plants. As per a report by the Central Electricity Authority coal stock was zero on Sunday at the 630 MW Bokaro TPS, 2340 MW Kahalgoan TPS, Chhabra TPS Durgapur TPS, Kota TPS and the Bendal TPS power stations. The coal rakes meant for Kota are being diverted to Chhabra.


RIL's use of significant cash balances to determine its future: S&P (Jan 30)
RIL's business strategy, particularly the use of its significant cash balances, would be a key determinant of any future rating action on the company', S&P, a US-based financial service company has said in a statement. It has even remarked that long term corporate rating on Mukesh Ambani-led industry has remained unaffected despite its plans to buy back its equity shares.
